FORMER Blackburn Rovers player and manager Henning Berg has been named as the new boss of Hungarian Premier League side Videoton.

Berg, who won the Premier League title as a player in 1995 and return for a short spell in charge at Ewood Park in 2012, revealed he is excited by the challenge at Videoton - who finished this season in second spot and will play in the Europa League next season.

Berg, who has also spent time in charge of Polish side Legia Warsaw, said: "I fought for the league title as a player and also as manager of Legia for the league title and cup.

"I do not plan for it to be any different in Hungary.

"Videoton FC is one of the leading clubs in the country, and although Ferencváros have a slight advantage, I am sure that we will pick up the fight and challenge them for the league title.

"It is an attractive challenge to me as a manager and I can work at a club that participates in European football.”
