DANNY Ings has backed Burnley to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, even though he will not be a part of it.

The striker made for a winning end to his debut top flight campaign, signing off his Clarets career with the only goal in their game at Aston Villa on Sunday.

It took his tally for the season to 11 - a return, allied with his performances, that has made him a target for the top Premier League teams.

Although Liverpool remain the favourites for his signature his future has yet to be finalised, with Tottenham Hotspur seemingly still in the running.

But Ings, who has also attracted European interest from Real Sociedad and Borussia Monchengladbach, is confident that if he remains a top flight player, he will be facing Burnley again soon.

“All you have to look at is the way they performed this year and the mentality of the group,” he said.

“The gaffer has got us all moving in the right direction.

The lads have been unbelievable, ever since the gaffer came in.

There are no egos at the club, nobody thinks they’re better than anyone else, we are all as one going in the right direction.”

Asked if the Clarets could bounce back, he said: “Of course they can.

“They’re building a brand new training ground to help the lads enjoy it.

“There’s no reason why Burnley can’t do that.”

Speculation has not just been limited to the players, with Kieran Trippier also linked to a move to Spurs.

Manager Sean Dyche has earned admiration for the manner in which he took Burnley up on a limited budget, and came close to keeping them up.

And Ings feels the Turf Moor chief is key to the Clarets winning a second promotion in two years.

“He’s massive,” said the striker. “He’s what everybody looks up to, from the fans to the players.

“He’s the guy that everybody listens to and works under and he’s an enjoyable manager to work for.

“He’s very hard working but he makes sure he gets the best out of you but that you get the best out of him as well.

“I know all the lads appreciate the work that he does with us.”
