Monday's FA Cup semi-final draw was, of course, conducted in a right and proper fashion, but I would have put my mortgage on Rovers not drawing Watford.

But in reality all that matters is that we are actually still in the competition.

If we are to complete a full set of domestic trophies in the space of 12 years, a record that hardly any English clubs will ever achieve, we have to beat the best teams - end of story.

The game against City itself was a real throw back to the glory days of the 90's.

A packed Ewood Park, with a proper atmosphere, is a fantastic place to be and it is a scene I hope returns more regularly next season.

Let's hope that Rovers ground-breaking gesture on season ticket prices is rewarded by the fans and that Fortress Ewood can continue to be an arena fit for the talents of players like Benni McCarthy and Tugay for years to come.

Rovers surely must have a couple of contenders for 'find of the season' in Matty Derbyshire and Chris Samba, while Benni McCarthy still finds himself in contention for the Golden Boot in only his first season in the Premiership.

So, no matter who we play, or where, Rovers are within touching distance of glory now.

It would be immensely fitting to see our little old Club, with its history inextricably woven into FA Cup folklore, taking part in the first final at the new Wembley.
