Hendry undergoes three ops

First published in Football

FORMER Blackburn Rovers star Colin Hendry is recovering at home after undergoing three operations this week.

The former Scotland international defender suffered ruptured tendons in his wrist, which then got infected. Mr Hendry, 48, who recently left Ewood Park after having returned in a coaching capacity, was first taken to hospital on Friday.

It came just a day after he received a vile tweet making fun of the death of his wife Denise, who died in 2009.

Daughter Rheagan said: “He has had three operations as it was infected so they had to clean it out twice.

“Then on Wednesday they repaired the tendon.

“He is feeling a bit groggy now and taking it easy.”

Get better soon Big Yin!

Still a Rovers legend for me and many others (but not all), the guy deserves some good luck in his life now.

The game against a very decent Stoke side will be a real tester for the Rovers, I know its just a `friendly` but in reality I expect to to be hard fought and keenly contested as the start to the season and starting team selection is almost upon us. A draw against a mark Hughes side would be a nice result and I expect him to get a good reception from the Rovers fans too..

Come on Chuck, you know this msn represents the BRFC revival of the 80's.

He as a colossal defender for Rovers and scored the goal that won them the Full Members Cup, a game which convinced Jack Walker that the sleeping giant that was Blackburn Rogers was 'sleeping' and not 'dead'.

That is why we gave him so much stick when he came to Turf Moor with City, he only then went a got the winner and celebrated in front of the Bee Hole End with a fisted salute and did Garner not do something similar for WBA?! LOL. Lastly, let's not forget Dunn....we call him "fatty" but i didn't see an ounce of fat when he tore his shirt off to celebrate in front if the Burnley fans after that 96th minute equaliser.

Rovers have a habit of producing players that taunt the very soul of Burnley.

I fail to see any current relevance in publishing this story as Rovers news. His appointment to the coaching staff was yet another poorly advised attempt at appeasing the vast number of disgruntled supporters during the SK (dark) period. The final hanger-on simply has milked his overpaid contract for all it was worth, rumour has it he was paid more than GB. Mind you, he always did like to show us his ar*e...

Colin,

I remember many years ago phoning you about a question I had about a Scottish Blazer Badge and although you were unable to help you were very helpful indeed.

I am sure that the operations will prove to be a great success and I wish you the best of luck for the future.

Best wishes

Paul
