ALEX Marrow has left Blackburn Rovers by mutual agreement.

The midfielder, who rejoined Rovers in July last year, becomes the fourth player this summer to have his contract ripped up by the club.

Marrow came through the ranks at Ewood Park before signing for Crystal Palace in a permanent deal in January 2011.

But the 24-year-old returned to Rovers last summer, signing a three-year contract.

He started the 2013-14 season in Gary Bowyer’s side.

However his last appearance for Rovers came off the bench in their 3-1 win at Bournemouth on September 28 and he ended the campaign on-loan at Fleetwood Town.

Marrow, who failed to make an impact at Fleetwood, was transfer listed by Rovers in May along with Leon Best, Dickson Etuhu, DJ Campbell, David Goodwillie and Jordan Slew.

Earlier this summer Rovers came to financial settlements with Etuhu, Campbell and Goodwillie.

It is believed Marrow, who had two years remaining on his Ewood deal, has been on trial at a club lower down the Football League ladder.

A Rovers spokesperson said: "The club thanks Alex for his work and dedication during his time at Ewood Park and wishes him all the best for the future."
