Burnley target Bryson does U-turn to sign new deal with Derby County

Lancashire Telegraph: Craig Bryson Craig Bryson

BURNLEY target Craig Bryson has rejected a move to the Premier League new boys to sign a new deal with Derby County.

The Clarets had triggered a clause in the goalscoring midfielder's contract to hold talks last week, with a view to making him a £750,000 signing.

Derby had tried to hold out for more money, but investigations into the terms of Bryson's agreement showed Burnley were under no obligation to make a higher offer as the sole bidders and the move was expected to go through.

But the Rams, who missed out on promotion from the Championship after losing to QPR in the play-off final, put a new contract offer to the Scotland international, which he signed this afternoon.

Erectile function temporarily restored in Blackburn as player using interest from one club to get a better deal at another sends trolls into ecstasy. You really don't get it do you? Following every tiny BFC rumour, trawling for anything that might make your day. "I told you he wouldn't..." What a self absorbed Burnley obsessed tool you reveal yourself to be. Don't get tired now - more excitement to be had. Keep your noses pressed hard to our windows now. Watch this space. Obsessed stalkers big night in.

Not surprised really given that derby are looking to spend big this season for auto promotion and that includes wages. There are championship clubs paying far more than we are willing to do. The bloke is confident of promotion and playing prem football next season with derby. If McClaren is still in charge then I too believe they will do it. Worth a punt.

Look at all the no-dads trying to squeeze some life back into their sorry looking semi's on the back of anything that might look remotely like a negative for Burnley.

Bryson has clearly found a level hes comfortable with and would prefer to earn a bigger wage and stay put. Its his choice to risk never playing in the Premier League.

The hilarious flip side to this story will become apparent when the gleeful no-dads finally realise that 16-goal Bryson will still be in the Championship next season to terrorise the leaky Blackburn Rovers defence.... you can almost sense the flaccidity returning en masse.

Poor old Rovers, there just doesn't seem to be any good news for them at the moment.

We only want players who want to play for us, unlike Blackburn who will pay anyone anything to play for them. Thinking about offering my services for £50K a week

Thats the price you pay for secod division football though isnt it, and the struggle you lot have to entice the scrubbers of Blackburn down to watch the tripe served up at Ewood Park means you have to almost give tickets away which in turn reduces your gate receipts which then adds to your fanancial problems.

Sad times for Blackburn Rovers I'm sure you'll agree.

matt taylor is 32 so falls into the last payday freebie dodgy knee category, played 20 league games last year so he's not excatly top drawer, as the saying goes, never sign a player on the way down. This guy is finished but could probably suck a three year 20k a week deal out of us, with a relegation clause inserted

Don't sign a championship player - no ambition. Sign a PL player - no ambition. The common thread? White is black and black is white in the swivel headed disco ball mind of your typical Blackburn fan. Let's calm down and let the Ritalin kick in. In a few weeks let's look at the trasfer activity of BFC and a certain BRFC. The common thread? Reality bites for both clubs. One not prepared to gamble its hard won financial security on average PL players. The other forced to confront its financial insanity and trim the wage bill. One club jettisons any remaining quality and accepts life in tier 2. The other adds quality and prepares for tier 1. 2 years too late, BRFC wakes up to reality. Their fans I fear could take quite a but longer.

HA HA HA
Thats the price you pay for secod division football though isnt it, and the struggle you lot have to entice the scrubbers of Blackburn down to watch the tripe served up at Ewood Park means you have to almost give tickets away which in turn reduces your gate receipts which then adds to your fanancial problems.

Sad times for Blackburn Rovers I'm sure you'll agree.
These people , sorry this person with the multiple personas is deluded. He thinks, breathes and writes everything Claret & Blue. He cant help himself, he is obsessed and has no friends of note, he lives alone in his Wilpshire mud shack with no light, but a computer for a friend, or friends if you count the multiple schizoid personas he has dragged up. Derby Fan here!
So glad Bryson has stayed as Derby and to be honest you were trying it on by offering well below market price!
Think you are going to make the same mistake we did when we went up by trying to sign freebies and has beens!
Had you offered what he was worth you might have got him and as for you fans coming on and laughing you were going to get Bryson cheap like you did Shackell? I don't think so!
We took 5000 to your place and you still didn't fill it!
We get 28000 most games and I think Bryson saw where our potential was!
Wish you all the best in the Premier and hope you stay up but this saga has left a bitter taste in the mouth of most Derby Fans!

Hi Dan,

We offered the money that the release clause in his contract asked for. This would be the amount that he and his agent leaked to us in order to get more money per week from either us or you. Now you renegotiated his contract last year didn’t you? He was a championship player then, and is now. This contract means that he is on premier league wages for the next five years. The only people that won this were Bryson and his agent, and there’s as much of a bitter taste in our mouths as yours.

Good luck for next season.

We always do things on the cheap take a look at our women. The ground we have needs demolishing and our strip is Villas with a different badge over the top. You are correct about our fan base with our amount of supporters we should be in division two. Good luck in the coming season, PS have you got any players over 33 that we can have for free and sign on massive wages on three year deals, if so we'll be on it pronto.
Yours sincerely BFC stalwart.

The idiot from Blackburn has so many names now it's become impossible to have a decent discussion/argument on here, which was probably the intention. I now only read posts that I know are from Clarets. Does this fool not have a job or ever sleep? I really do believe he/she/it is genuinely in need of medical/psychiatric help, I don't mean that in any joking way.

Derby were the best of the non-promoted sides last season but nowhere near as good or as consistent as us - no contest. But stronger sides are down this year than last. We escaped that league with a massive points total for 2nd place. Will Derby hit 90+ next season or was last season their best recent chance? Play off lottery at best I think.

Winge winge moan moan, Grow up. Burnley tried to force a move through for Bryson, even getting the PFA involved to try and get him through the door on the cheap. It was like when United tried the same with Jones, whipping out the release clause as some form of price tag.
The telegraph today says BFC have to revisit their transfer policy, result. Now you're on about signing over 32's on massive wages and maybe conducting yourselves in a proper manner instead of gushing all over the press, the release clause of a transfer target.
Our well run club will no longer be able to shop at the pound shop now we are pushing for Europe.

When Burnley won promotion the freaks seriously thought that the £120 million tv money would be used to buy top drawer players and that Burnley were going places.

Here we are in July. So far they have landed Matt Gilks on a free from Blackpool and made Kightly's deal permanent.

Burnley bid for Craig Dawson who can't get a game at WBA. That bid was rejected.

Burnley are supposedly close to signing Bolton Wanderers reject Marvin Sordell, but are yet to get that one over the line.

Burnley have supposedly bid a club record figure for Troy Deeney, but that bid was rejected.

Burnley bid £750k for a Championship player, only for that player to get a better offer at Derby and stay there.

Burnley are apparently close to landing Matt Taylor, who is 32 and has a long history of injury issues, on a free transfer.

Premier League status and windfall doesn't seem to have helped much when you still can't even attract Championship players. How long until Dyche gets fed up with things like Coyle did?
