Dyche hails Burnley comeback

Lancashire Telegraph: Sean Dyche Sean Dyche

SEAN Dyche praised his Burnley side after they scored a late equaliser to draw at Watford and move 10 points clear in second place in the Championship.

Scott Arfield levelled with four minutes left to cancel out Troy Deeney's ninth-minute goal for the hosts, and defeats for QPR and Derby strengthened the Clarets' grip on the second automatic promotion spot with only six games left to play.

Dyche said: "After Watford scored they were pretty defence minded and sat off us, and we had to find a way of breaking them down, which was difficult.

"But I thought we stuck with our gameplan really well. I always feel this group has got a chance to get something from a game and we've done it again.

"We came back from a goal down and nicked a very valuable point."

David Jones was taken to hospital after the game but Dyche stressed it was only a precaution after the midfielder was substituted with 15 minutes left.

"It's just checking things out, he was feeling a little bit unwell, that was all," said the Burnley boss.

After Watford scored they sat off us and we had to find a way to break them down? I thought I saw him in the dug out but perhaps it was a cardboard cutout Was he actually at the game?? They absolutely battered us, missed an open goal and we scabbed a draw with pretty much or only effort on target. QPR and Derby fortunately seem to want to hand second place to us but I really fear for us next season under this clown with such a desperate squad.

Oh what a shame THE CLARETS earned a point under unbelievable pressure from qpr, derby and wigan, but still increased the gap to 10 points with 6 games to play.
Hope its ruined your Saturday night loser.

Bottom line is you moved further ahead in the race for the Prem. I'm blue through and through, but credit where it's due.

At least I'll be able to enjoy MOTD next year watching you dingoes getting spanked every week which believe me I'll enjoy!

But for now as I said credit where credits due and with zings and Trippier back you'll take a well deserved walk into the Prem. I just hope you don't enjoy it too much. COYB!!

I'm really worried about you, TurfMoorTom. You have been delusional for quite some time now but your paranoia (look it up) is obviously getting worse. My goodness, commenting on games you didn't attend with clearly so little judgement of reality and making barmy comments about the manager. I recommend you find yourself a good shrink before your head explodes. If I believed you were a true claret fan, I would petition the club to make a small donation out of their promotion bounty to help you get your life in order. On the other hand, you could just put on your chicken suit - the headless chicken suit mind you, and spend your time running round Ewood Park. It will do you the world of good.

Stevie Claret, you more than anyone know that this character has commented under so many names, probably still does.

He used to, amongst so many others, comment under the title BRFC The Peoples' Champions. He runs a website, http://ewoodpark.jim

He runs a page about the "Burnley Attendance Myth". Its a pastiche of maths-invert to prove that Rovers are amazing and we are dross and liars and er are actually provenly sub-human. He believes it, means it and lives it.. He even annotates with a picture a some special-needs guy to show what Burnley fans are like. The text says so much about the guy. He's has utterly genuine issues that need consistent medical attention - pathological hatred taken to a whole new level.

Absolutely delighted with a point away at a resurgent Watford. Once again Sean and the lads put on a great performance, proving what Sean has been saying all season that its about the group. Yet again everyone stepped up to the mark. Can't believe our luck with the other results for derby and qpr, more fool them. Our lads go out there to win every game knowing we can only take care of our own business. They're doing a fantastic job and put us in a great position. Derby and qpr though really are making us fans feel more comfortable than the level of nervousness we should be feeling about the remaining 6 games. Don't get me confused with complacent, you know on here that is something I most certainly am not. They are turning a little slap stick in their ability to take advantage of any hiccups we experience. It does make you laugh that rather than be 7 points clear and praying for the return of our stars before the gap narrowed closer still, we end up further ahead by 10.

☆VDT ☆ no ney never

Even I'm starting to believe n I'm an eternal pessimist. Supposed to be taking the family to Carla gran in near fleetwood tomoz. Thinking of havin a day off on Tuesday to visit Barnsley... Trips n Ings reportedly back for that game n marney definitely back. Would be a real boost to the team n fans!
