BLACKBURN Rovers midfielder Chris Taylor has urged his team-mates to put the club’s Championship play-off push back on track with a vital victory at home to Derby County today (3pm).

Taylor admits last weekend’s 4-1 loss at Nottingham Forest represented a ‘step backwards’ in Rovers’ attempts to snatch a top six spot.

But with most of their fellow promotion hopefuls out of action because of the FA Cup, the 27-year-old believes the visit of the fourth-placed Rams is the ideal opportunity to bounce back.

Taylor said: “We keep getting close to breaking into the play-off places and that was a bit of a step backwards.

“But if we can produce the kind of form we have been in prior to the Forest game then hopefully that will put us right back in the mix.

“We started the year very well up until now and the results are starting to settle down a bit.

“We are also getting to know each other’s game more now because it’s easy to forget there are a lot of new players in this team this season.

“It has set up the match with Derby nicely – I think we need to go all out for the three points.

“It will be tough but we want to keep up with the pack so it’s definitely a game we want to win.”

Owd Nick, you must be out of your mind, Dingle David never been to a match never will be. He is used to sitting at home living on benefits on the pretence he is caring for somebody. Spouting venom here though is another matter.

hello my friend?
no differing view to you but so what - still on stance of no go whilst the cowboys and indians are running the club - its hard because whether you believe me or not been a life long supporter since 1951 so have seen many ups and downs but never clowns such as the Venkys and their abysmal Manager/Player appointments - so will continue to listen to commentary, read reports and listen to comment of friends etc who still do attend Ewood.

Funny you call yourself a 'life long supporter' Dingle Dave, I presume you are supporting the club in these pages. Why don't you look up the meaning of 'lifelong' and 'supporter' in a dictionary? While you are at it, check out the meaning of 'your' and 'you are'.
