CLITHEROE gave Colin Wilson an emotional send off at Shawbridge on Saturday as the Blues slipped a surprise defeat.
Wilson, regarded by many as ‘Mr Clitheroe’ died last week and players, supporters and officials held a minute’s silence before the kick off in memory of the club’s most loyal of servants.
However, bottom-of-the-table Ossett Albion spoilt the send off with a rare victory to end a losing sequence stretching back four games.
Defeat for the Blues also severely dented their hopes of reaching the play-offs – they are now 12 points behind fifth-placed Bamber Bridge.
Kurtis Noble gave Ossett a 21st minute lead before Ben Grech-Brooksbank doubled the lead in the 52nd minute.
