Monday night team news: Ipswich ready for Rovers

Lancashire Telegraph: Monday night team news: Ipswich ready for Rovers Monday night team news: Ipswich ready for Rovers

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is expected to keep faith with an unchanged line-up when Blackburn visit Portman Road.

McCarthy made one change for Saturday's trip to Charlton as left-back Aaron Cresswell returned from suspension and he was rewarded with a 1-0 success at The Valley.

With Town winless on home soil in three attempts, McCarthy, who has no new injury or suspension concerns, is unlikely to tinker with that winning formula.

Striker Paul Taylor continues to struggle with a shoulder injury but midfielder Luke Hyam has recovered from a back problem and could make the bench.

Loanee Rudy Gestede, meanwhile, will come into Blackburn's squad for the first time when they make the trip to Ipswich in the Sky Bet Championship.

The forward, borrowed from Cardiff last week, missed the weekend win over Leeds due to a minor knock yet he has trained and comes into the reckoning for the clash at Portman Road.

Lee Williamson will also travel after overcoming Friday night's migraine which meant he too was absent against the Whites, while fellow midfielder Jason Lowe, who recently penned a new deal at Ewood Park, could make his 100th appearance for the club.

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson (back) is expected to step up his training this week when he participates in small contact games but Dickson Etuhu and Corry Evans (both ankle) are some way off yet.

I'll concern myself with team news tomorrow night because at the minute I'd rather know who at the LT keeps using that dodgy Rovers badge on the articles.

It looks like one of those fake badges on a fake kit. Probably like the ones being flogged on the cheap in Pune.....

Sort it LT and get the proper badge on.... thanks, moan over.... for now

Not a bad game to bring Gestade into the team, most of Ipswich goals this season have come from their two big strikers but four from their two big centre halves makes you think maybe Mick McCarthy is sticking with his old play book.

Last season we draw the game with a own goal from Jason Lowe. He should take charge to get back 3 points today.

We cannot go back without any purchace in this travel. So buckleup and WIN IT.

I hope same team who played last satuday and add Rudy Gestede's introduction after 60 mts.

Ray, seems to me you are running out of things to argue about, don't tell me you have withdrawal symptoms already and are actually missing your simian friends from up the road ?

Come on, be strong, think about football, you can get through this ;-)

Ha ha, bad day yesterday mate, just needed to whinge at something...

3 points would be superb tonight but I'd be pretty happy with a point away at Ipswich

Rochina looks at least a month of reasonable fitness and I certainly wouldn't risk him against Ipswich, I wouldn't tackle half of their players until I heard them speak. :-) and the injury he has can easily be aggravated.

Chris Taylor was superb against Leeds, he deserves another chance.

Campbell looked up for it when he came on against Leeds, so yes I agree.

So why are you on another thread raving about Gestade heading on Spurrs throws ?

You should have Taylor and Gestade, not Rochina and Campbell in your starting team.
