BLACKBURN Rovers are pondering whether to join the race to sign Dale Jennings from Champions League finalists Bayern Munich.

Jennings is set to return to England this summer and Rovers, who could also sign Blackpool central defender Ian Evatt, are considering whether to join those making a move for the 20-year-old.

A number of Championship clubs are interested in Jennings, who can also play up front and earned a sensational switch to Bayern while playing for Tranmere Rovers two years ago.

Jennings moved to Germany for a fee of around £600,000, rising to a potential £1.8m, but Tranmere have missed out on the potential add-ons because Jennings has not played for Bayern’s first team since his transfer - instead featuring for their B side after being hampered by injuries.

He still has a year left on his contract at the Bavarian club but wants to return to England.

Bayern, who face fellow German side Borussia Dortmund in tonight’s Champions League final at Wembley, have agreed to let him leave for the right price.

Jennings is thought to be keen on the possibility of returning to the north west and would be open to interest from a club such as Rovers.

Rovers are also said to have lined up a potential two-year deal for Evatt. The 31-year-old has not been offered a new deal by Blackpool but had been invited to return for pre-season training with the Bloomfield Road club.

Rovers centre back Scott Dann has been reported to be attracting interest and Huddersfield have now been linked with Ruben Rochina, who is currently on loan from Rovers to Spanish side Real Zaragoza.

It remains uncertain whether relegation-threatened Zaragoza will attempt to sign the Spaniard permanently, with their season ending next weekend.

But Colin Kazim-Richards is unlikely to return to Ewood following the expiry of his season-long loan. Rovers are keen to cut their wage bill this summer.

Rovers have confirmed that they will travel to League One side Crewe for a friendly on Tuesday, July 16 at 7.30pm.

The game could see Grant Hanley return to the club where he spent time as a youth player.

Rovers expect to release their new home kit for the 2013/14 season at the end of next month.

A documentary looking at Blackburn Rovers’ decline under Venky’s rule will be released online on Monday.

Rishi Sikka, of Essex-based Squashed Fox Productions, spent last summer speaking to a range of people to gauge opinions on Rovers’ slide out of the Premier League and the discontent around the town about the Venky’s regime.
