GARY Bowyer hailed a ‘magnificent’ Blackburn Rovers fightback after they recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 at Millwall tonight.
Victory moved Rovers up five places to 15th in the table, five points clear of the relegation zone with two games left to play.
Rovers lost Colin Kazim-Richards to a suspected dislocated shoulder before Markus Olsson was withdrawn at half time with a tight hamstring.
David Dunn also had to go off late on, requiring 10 stitches in a gash.
But Rovers overcame all of that to come from behind to win, having lost 4-0 at Watford on Saturday.
“I was delighted with the reaction from Saturday, we got some bad press but you can’t knock us tonight,” Bowyer said.
“We withstood an onslaught in the first 20 or 25 minutes, then we got a foothold in the game and the lads were magnificent in the second half. That was a hell of a performance.
“We asked them to be brave and everyone was.”
