Dyche's pride as Clarets beat Lions
7:00pm Saturday 19th January 2013 in Football
BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche praised a “very thorough” performance after seeing his side stretch their winning league run to three games, and his own unbeaten run against Millwall to 12 with this afternoon's 2-0 win at The Den.
The Clarets took the lead through Sam Vokes midway through the first half, with Danny Ings securing the win with his second of the season.
The Lions tried to force their way back into the game, but Burnley held firm for their third clean sheet in a row in the Championship.
“I think it was very thorough,” said Dyche.
“I've mentioned many times that you have to find ways of winning games and today we had a fantastic balance throughout the 90-odd minutes.
“There was endeavour, there was good shape, there was good quality at times, there was a real good feel about the game and that's important.
“When I came here I mentioned about pride in the shirt and that has to be a given, and it's coming.
“You can see the amount of effort the players are putting in.
“I know they can play.
“I say to them all the time I believe they are better than what they believe sometimes.”
Burnley climbed to seventh in the Championship, taking Millwall's place.
But Dyche tempered designs on the play-offs by adding: “We're a work in progress. We don't get carried away, we're enjoying the nice run we're on, we're deserving of the run we're on with our performance levels and long may that continue, but we've got to work hard for it each week.”

Dyche seems to know what he's doing and if he can bring consistency to them then there's a chance of being involved at the end of season.
Three wins with no Austin as well, Stanislas making a contribution, Ings, etc starting to deliver the goods.
If we're good enough we will actually break into the top 6. More recently we get close and then it all goes wrong. I think Dyche could be the guy to instill the toughness in them which they need.
Having read over the fixtures left to end of season, while there are no easy games in the Championship, the sides to come in the main don't strike fear into the heart.
