EAST Lancashire are in the running for a top Lancashire Cricket gong – and will find out on Friday the 13th if they have won.
The club is one of three nominated in the Natwest CricketForce section of the Lancashire Cricket Board OSCA’s, awards that honour the volunteers who give their time and enthusiasm to the grassroots game.
And representatives from East Lancashire will head off to The Point at Old Trafford for the glittering awards ceremony on Friday, July 13, after winning the nomination for work carried out on Natwest CricketForce Day ahead of the season.
East Lancashire are not the only local clubs in the shortlist.
One of their rivals for the CricketForce prize is Brooksbottom CC, the Sumerseat-based club who will join the Ribblesdale League next year.
Chorley coach Wayne Barclay is nominated in the Coach of the Year section, as is Oswaldtwistle Immanuel’s veteran bowler and coach Gerard Metcalf and Burnley Belvedere groundsman Derek Carter is one of three men nominated as groundsperson of the year
