IT took Shubham Khajuria just 66 deliveries to produce a score big enough for Oswaldtwistle Immanuel to get the better of Read.

The Oswaldtwistle professional blasted his way to 151, with 15 fours and 13 sixes helping him to contribute to a 198-run third wicket partnership with Daniel Metcalf (66).

And together they helped to post a target of 265-5, despite the game being reduced to 37 overs per side after a heavy mid-afternoon downpour.

Read’s Andrew Rushton top scored with 37 off only 26 balls in a reply of 201 all out, giving Oswaldtwistle victory by 64 runs.

In the match of the day, Whalley batted first against Baxenden and looked well set at 69-1 off 17overs, thanks to Mark Fallon (25) and Stuart Crabtree (47).

At this point a thunderstorm left the ground covered with large puddles.

However, thanks to a lot of work by the Whalley players and a positive attitude by both captains the match was able to resume as a 27 overs per side match, and Whalley managed to set a target of 118-7.

The visitors could find no answer to the bowling of Sam Sweeney (6-37) and Joel Blain (4-28) on a wicket giving considerable help to both bowlers, and were all out for just 72.

The clash between league leaders Settle and Padiham was reduced to 23 overs per side. Padiham batted first and made 110-8, with Callum Clarke (30) top scoring and Settle’s Matthew Simpson taking 5-48.

In reply Settle lost early wickets, but came out on top in another tight finish, getting home by four wickets in the last over. Tom Strickland’s 42 proved vital.

In a game reduced to 31 overs per side Euxton posted a very impressive 224-6 against Brinscall through Andrew Winrow’s 33, Waqar Rafique’s 79 and Matthew Johnson’s quickfire 29 off 18 balls.

Sam MacLachlan took 5-71 for Brinscall, who in reply got off to an excellent start with openers Joshua Andrew (45) and Johnathon McDonald (73) adding 101 for the first wicket.

This set the platform for Sehan Weerasinghe, who made 79 off just 42 deliveries to see Brinscall home with nearly three overs to spare.

Section B leaders Ribblesdale Wanderers met Earby looking to increase their advantage in this section.

Jordan Britcliffe took 3-50, Primosh Perera 4-47 and Ian Britcliffe 3-15 as Earby were bowled out for 140. Mack Spencer made 44 and Sam Jackson an unbeaten 59 as Ribblesdale won by seven wickets.

Salesbury celebrated victory over Feniscowles, while Cherry Tree recorded a four-wicket win over Barnoldswick in the final over.

In a match reduced to 30 overs per side Barnoldswick were quickly in trouble at 30-5 and had to thank Matt Haynes (34) and Jonny Beech (27) to enable them to post a total of 96-9. Stefan Klopper took 3-25 and Kelan Flourentine 4-41.

Klopper then dominated the reply with 51, in an away win.
