BLACKBURN Rovers midfielder Steven Reid is at the centre of a fresh injury scare.
The Republic of Ireland international, who only recently returned to action following four months out with a back injury, collapsed in agony yesterday after damaging his knee in a freak training ground incident.
Reid was immediately helped off the pitch and underwent a scan in Leeds, the results of which were due later today.
Rovers are keeping their fingers crossed that it doesn't reveal ligament damage because that could mean another lengthy lay-off for the former Millwall star, who has endured some wretched luck with injuries during his time at Ewood.
Manager Mark Hughes had hoped to have Reid back in his first team plans in the next couple of weeks, but this latest setback could put those comeback plans in jeopardy.
