CHORLEY'S Graeme Ballard set a new 100m world record at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.
Ballard, 32, who has cerebral palsy, beat the 12.15 seconds set by China's Wa Wai So in 2007 with a time of 11.98 in T36 category.
The Runshaw College student also kept up his fine form in the 200m, taking gold in 25.12 seconds.
“I didn’t expect to get a world record, it was great to go that fast," said Ballard.
"My preparations have been going really well to date so today has set me up well for the season ahead.”
