ACCRINGTON Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell insists he and boss John Coleman are the men to take the Reds forward.

The duo's future has been called into question after their 8-2 embarrassment at Peter-borough United on Tuesday night.

The London Road humiliation was Stanley's third defeat in four games, and the worst of their managerial career.

But Bell has urged for patience among supporters, and stressed that the club would not find a more hard-working managerial partnership. And he is confident they are capable of turning their season around.

"I can assure them that they will no get a management team as determined, loyal and up for the cause as me and John," he said.

"There are no two people who have higher expectations.

"We love the pressure and people pushing us forward because you can quickly become stagnant.

"We want to push the club, and appreciate all the supporters are concerned about the team because, after all, it's their team and Accrington will be there long after me and John are gone.

"But a lot of them have to remember that they have been brought up on success. When we took over we had a fanbase of 300.

"They want success and we believe we can give them that again. No-one wants success more than me and John."

Stanley will look to bring in two new defenders in the transfer window.
