IAN Craney revealed he knocked back a deal from another League Two club before he returned to Accrington Stanley for a second time on loan.
Craney's loan spell from Swansea was cut short after they accepted an offer from another club for the midfielder.
But after negotiations broke down, Stanley chairman Eric Whalley moved quickly to tie up a deal for the Liverpudlian until the end of the year.
And Craney, who will go straight into the team for today's match against Notts County, admitted he was delighted.
"Negotiations broke down so it looks like I'll be at Stanley until the end of the year. That suits me fine because I'm really enjoying it here and it's ideal for me," he said.
"I'd been looking forward to the Notts County game all week and then all this happened. It was an up and down time and I was just wondering what was going on.
"I just can't wait to play now. I had my injury and then it was good to get my first goal last week. Slowly but surely I'm getting back to my best."
