KIERAN Trippier believes he and his Clarets team-mates have found their feet in the Premier League after two straight wins moved them off the bottom of the table.

The right-back has admitted it took him a bit of time to get use to the higher demands and standards in the top flight, but after successive wins against Hull City and Stoke City he believes Burnley have now adapted to the top flight.

“As a team we knew coming into this league was difficult but we’ve finally found our feet in this league now,” said the 24-year-old.

“It will get more difficult as the season goes on but we are all ready for the task.”

Before the two victories the Clarets were being written off as Premier League no-hopers after failing to win any of their first 10 league games.

But the turnaround in fortunes hasn’t surprised anyone within Sean Dyche’s squad, and Trippier believes the victory at the Britannia Stadium is a huge moment in their season.

“Everyone was saying we’ve not scored, we’ve not won, we’ve done that now, we’ve got two wins on the bounce and it shows how quickly football can change,” said the defender.

“It was a massive win for us (at Stoke) because you probably won’t see many sides go there and win because they are a tough side to play against.”

The win was achieved thanks to a heroic defensive effort after Danny Ings had struck twice inside the opening 13 minutes, Trippier played a big part in Ings’ success in front of goal last season, and he is in no doubt about how far the England Under-21 international can go.

“People might be questioning can he step up to the Premier League,” said Trippier.

“I know he can because I’ve played with him for a number of years now.

“I’ve seen a few very good finishers but He is up there and is only 22 so has a lot of time to progress.”

“I think he can go all the way to the top and it is only a matter of time before he will be playing for England.”
