FULL-TIME: Burnley 2, Leeds 1

BURNLEY came back from behind for the second time in three games to secure a 2-1 win and enhance their automatic promotion chances by going 10 points clear in second place.

The Clarets trailed to Championship top scorer Ross McCormack's 27th minute header.

Connor Wickham's long throw on the left was flicked on by Matt Smith in the box and McCormack, who had earlier been denied by the post, nodded powerfully past Tom Heaton from around 10 yards out.

Burnley were level just over 10 minutes later, with Kieran Trippier adding to his assist tally.

The right back's dangerous ball into the near post was challenge by Sam Vokes, and in trying to defend it under pressure from the striker Jason Pearce turned it into his own net through the legs of goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The Clarets came out stronger in the second half, as has been the case on so many occasions this season, and they were rewarded with what proved to be the winner in the 66th minute.

Junior Stanislas had a hand in the build-up, just minutes after coming off the bench to replace Ross Wallace.

The winger waited to feed Ben Mee on the overlap, the low cross was missed by Sam Vokes but struck well by Scott Arfield.

Tom Lees blocked the initial effort, but when the ball came back to Arfield the Scot made no mistake in finding the bottom left corner, and the Clarets went on to defend their lead well to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games and widen the gap over third placed Derby County.

Still a way off our best, a better team than Leeds would have taken advantage of some poor back passes in the first half. But the sign of a good team when you can be well below par but still get a result.

Fair play to Burnley it shows you don't just rely on the quality of Ings. Enjoy promotion.

Still a long way to go, but I looked at the fixtures a couple of months ago and thought if we were still in second place after the Leeds game we would be ok..

Thanks Ewood mark.
Forget the league position of teams we are up against in the run in, the next 10 games are going to be battles.
I am pleased we came through the Leeds game with the 3 points. Like Birmingham and Leeds today, Charlton will too prove to be difficult but we have to over come the challenge they will provide.
We're going to be up against it but I believe we have the bolcks for it.
Well done today lads.

Vokes just gets better. Hope they can really fit Barnes in. He looked better in the second half when SD had re-organized the front line a little. Hope Danny is not to out for too long. Three very good points. Hope Sheff Wed can do a job on QPR on Wednesday.

People keep going on about QPR and Derby but we have to watch Wigan. They might be 15 points off the mark but they are showing no signs of letting up on their fantastic run and they have two games in hand, with a game against us to come. Not saying it's a massive threat but I believe it's a bigger threat than the other two. I'll feel a bit happier when they have lost a game. Watch this space.
