BLACKBURN Rovers have restarted discussions with Huddersfield over Jordan Rhodes – but will not be held to ransom over the price tag.

Rovers remain interested in the Terriers’ hot-shot and have opened dialogue with the Terriers once more.

The club though are reluctant to meet the £8million price tag given to them and are still looking elsewhere in case agreement can’t be reached.

It is believed Rovers are prepared to pay £5million up front, plus add ons, for Rhodes but Huddersfield are adamant it will take £8m to land their man.

Rovers have drawn up a shortlist of possible strikers ahead of the close of the transfer window on Friday and will not be panicked into paying over the odds for Rhodes.

Meanwhile Polish international goalkeeper Grzegorz Sandomierski underwent his medicals at Brockhall yesterday and is expected to sign today, with Portuguese defender Nuno Henrique expected to have his medical today.
