Danielle Sheen was the night’s big winner at Blackburn Rovers Ladies’ annual presentation evening.
The 21-year-old striker scooped the manager’s player of the year award and top goalscorer gong after netting 21 times in 30 games for Scott Rogers’ side last season.
Goalkeeper Krystal Parker picked up the players’ player award, while versatile defender Danielle Oates, who will join up with the Wales Under-19 squad next week, was named Young Player of the Year.
Katie Anderton’s outstanding opener in the FA Women’s Cup third round victory away to Nottingham Forest was voted Goal of the Season.
At reserve team level, midfielder Laura Garner also had double cause for celebration after winning the Players’ Player and Top Goalscorer awards.
England Under-19 international Danielle Whitham, who has made the successful transition into the senior side, was named Manager’s Player of the Year, while 17-year-old striker Sara Noori picked up the Young Player prize.
Earlier this week, a host of Rovers Ladies players received international call-ups.
Duo Danielle Oates and Gemma Jackson were selected to attend a Wales Women’s Under-19 training camp in Cardiff from May 29 to June 1, while team-mate Whitham was called up from the standby list to the main England Women’s Under-19 squad for a training camp in Coventry next month.
