AFTER showdown talks with Anuradha Desai in India under fire Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean was still in situ this evening.

It is understood Kean met with Desai and her fellow co owner Balaji Rao at their Pune HQ for between two to three hours to discuss the club’s future after Premier League relegation.

After a second day of meetings, after the Rovers manager arrived on Wednesday morning, Kean emerged looking ‘untroubled’ and is due to return to England tomorrow morning.

There had been no official confirmation from either the club or from owners Venky’s about the outcome of this week’s meeting at the time of going to press, leaving Kean still in the Ewood hot seat until it is said otherwise.

The Lancashire Telegraph understand Kean presented his detailed vision for the future to club matriarch Desai and the reasons why he was the best man to take the club forward.

It is believed he looked to persuade her that keeping faith with him as boss was the club’s best chance of keeping the majority of the current squad together.

He is understood to have not given up on retaining Junior Hoilett’s services, despite the in demand Canadian being out of contract this summer.

Ewood insiders believe no final decision has been made yet on Kean’s future but have been left in the dark.

A source close to Hoilett has told the Lancashire Telegraph the winger will exit Ewood, with a number of top clubs from home and abroad waiting to swoop.

The source said: “There is no chance that Junior can now stay at Blackburn Rovers.

“He has loved his time at the club but he wants to be playing at the highest level possible.

“He will look at all his options. The staff and the players know he is leaving and wish him the best.”

Should Venky’s give Kean a vote of confidence, it is understood some employees at Ewood Park would begin to consider their own futures at the club.

The Rovers boss has been under heavy pressure from supporters for months now but Mrs Desai has previously always been a staunch supporter of his.

Meanwhile Sam Allardyce has confirmed the footage apparently showing Kean insulting him to fans last summer is in the hands of his lawyers. He declined to comment any further.
