BARROWFORD enjoyed a successful weekend in the Craven League as both their teams enjoyed comfortable wins.

The first team travelled to Cullingworth and, bowling first, Matthew Clark and Chris Platt ensured the home batsmen never settled, with Clark returning his best figures for the club (6-39). Ajmal Choudhry (3-6) chipped in as the home side were dismissed for 92.

Despite a couple of wobbles Barrowford secured a six-wicket win with 21 overs to spare, thanks largely to opener Liam Roberts (45 not out) who saw the Bull Holme side home.

The second team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 77-run victory against Cullingworth seconds.

John Lambert was the hero for Foulridge as they beat Riddlesden with ease at Noyna Rock in Division Two. The former Colne star top scored with 42 as Foulridge were 124 all out – then weaved his magic with the ball in a nervy finish.

Riddlesden appeared to be on their way to a win but Lambert claimed 6-34 as he knocked over the tail with the Yorkshire side bowled out just two runs short of a win.

Thornton beat Ingrow by 45 runs after posting a daunting 254-3 but there was disappointment for Pendle Forest as they went down to defeat at the hands of Sutton.

Chatburn also lost to Ingrow St John’s seconds.
