Blackburn Rovers fans have made a last ditch plea to owners Venky’s to sack under fire boss Steve Kean ahead of tomorrow’s summit talks in India.

Kean will meet co owner Anuradha Desai at her Pune HQ on Wednesday to discuss the future with almost 4,500 fans having already added their name to the call for his exit.

The petition, which had 4,312 names yesterday lunchtime, less than 24 hours after it was launched, was emailed directly to Desai last night as the frustrated supporters take the desperate measure to convey their feelings to Venky’s.

Further names were being e-mailed after the final figure had been totted up.

Kean has come under increasing pressure from the Ewood Park faithful having struggled to pick up consistent results during his 18 months in charge.

The Lancashire Telegraph understand the majority of Blackburn Rovers’ board, Venky’s advisers and even co owners Venkatesh and Balaji Rao want Kean out, but Desai is yet to be convinced.

Deputy chief executive Paul Hunt has already lost his job after an email he sent to Desai calling for Kean’s dismissal back in December, two days after the Lancashire Telegraph’s call, was leaked last week.

Now, having seen their side relegated from the Premier League, Rovers fans have come together to plead with the club matriarch to finally make the change that so many have been calling for.

The email, which is attached to the petition and will be sent direct to Desai, requests that “Venky’s, as owners and custodians of our historic football club, terminate the employment of Mr Steve Kean at Blackburn Rovers Football Club with immediate effect.

It continues to say the supporters “have no faith whatsoever in the ability of Steve Kean to manage a football team nor be involved in the running of a professional football club.

“His record as a manager during his 18-month spell in charge of the club is among the worst in the twenty-year history of the Premier League and he is undoubtedly the worst and arguably the most unpopular manager in the entire 137-year history of our football club.”

The document goes on to say how Kean’s presence is having an adverse effect on supporters and says his removal would be the first step in the process of re establishing stability at Ewood Park.

Large sections of Rovers fans have been at war with Venky’s and Kean for most of the season after a series of baffling decisions and unfulfilled promises leaves the club in apparent crisis.

Since Venky’s bought the club from the Walker Trust and replaced Sam Allardyce with managerial novice Kean, Rovers have been fighting an almost constant relegation battle.

A run of eight defeats from the last nine Premier League games condemned Rovers to the drop into the Championship, having won just eight games all season.

Kean has raised eyebrows in recent days by claiming “exciting times are ahead” and that owners Venky’s are “100 per cent” the right owners for Blackburn Rovers.

The ‘Kean out’ petition was initially posted on fans internet site brfcs an hour before kick off at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Fans have been adding their names via various other fans websites, twitter and email in an attempt to show Mrs Desai the strength of the feeling against Kean.

Kean himself was adamant his job was not even under pressure after Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea, after confidently predicting he would be the man to lead Rovers back into the Premier League.

He also declined to comment on reports that he was set to put forward press officer Paul Agnew’s name as a potential new chief executive.

POLL TOOK DOWN

The Lancashire Telegraph’s ‘Venky’s out’ poll had to be taken down on Saturday morning after Burnley fans forum Clarets Mad started a campaign to vote ‘Venky’s in’ on our website.
