DARWEN’S talented teen Alex Davies gets the chance to play against the Red Rose tomorrow as the Towers look for Northern League points when they welcome the Lancashire Academy to Birch Hall.
Davies, who has spent the week playing for Lancashire Seconds alongside Read professional Jordan Clark, is included in the Darwen side for the clash (1pm).
The Academy side, now in a third season in the Northern League, is made up largely of some of the brightest young talent in the county.
Former Ramsbottom spinner and Stonyhurst pupil Tim Le Breton has played in both their games so far this season.
Darwen skipper John Cordingley doesn’t feature in the game, which is the second of a run of three matches in three days thanks the ECB National Knockout tie with Fulwood and Broughton on Monday.
His brother Neil leads the side instead
