NEWLY-promoted Lancashire Wolverines showed they have little to fear in the British American National League Division One after one hugely impressive victory and one narrow defeat.

The Blackburn-based club played its first ever game at this level at Gateshead Senators and came out on top in a low-scoring victory.

The win was even more impressive as the Wolverines did not concede and restricted their hosts to just two plays of over 10 yards in the entire game.

Wolverines scored twice with running plays. First of which was Quarterback (QB) David Mead using a sneak play up the middle from about 5 yards after a very impressive drive down the field in previous plays. The extra point was scored by Kicker Danny Morton, Wolverines were 0-7 up.

The second followed soon after when fullback James Lago forced through an impressive drive from one yard.

The extra point was missed.

Wolverines were on the road again in their second match at Nottingham Ceasars in a match dubbed the Mud Bowl!

Again Lancashire Wolverines showed they are good enough at this level but narrowly lost 9-8.
