RED Rose Drylining came out on top in the showdown between the two sides who have dominated the Orphanage Cup in recent years.
The cup holders, aiming for a fourth win in five years, beat three-time winners East Lancs Teachers ‘A’ 6-0 in the pick of the first round ties.
Red Rose will now face Kirk Scaffolding tomorrow night at Pleasington for a place in the quarter finals.
Second round matches began last night and will be concluded tomorrow.
The quarter finals will be held Pleckgate Playing Fields next Monday and Wednesday due to Pleasington being close to prepare for the crcket season.
