BLACKBURN Rovers crashed 3-0 at Swansea City this afternoon to leave them rooted in the Premier League relegation zone.

Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Nathan Dyer in the last 10 minutes of the first half left Rovers with a mountain to climb as they trailed the Swans 2-0 at the break.

A Scott Dann own goal extended the lead after the break as the Rovers away fans voiced their disgust with chants of 'Kean out' during the second half.

Despite the baffling exclusion of Gael Givet from the squad, Rovers actually started the clash quite well as they took the game to their hosts.

Junior Hoilett's scuffed volley almost presented Yakubu with a shooting opportunity early on, while Scott Dann headed over from Morten Gamst Pedersen's left wing corner.

Swansea slowly started to impose their passing style onto the game and a one-two between Angel Rangel and Nathan Dyer almost saw the former through on goal, with Grant Hanley bundling the ball to safety.

Swansea thought they should have had a penalty on 23 minutes after Sigurdsson went down under the challenge of Pedersen. Referee Mark Clattenburg waved play on although replays showed the Norwegian was fortunate.

The hosts did make the breakthrough on 37 though when danger man Gylfi Sigurdsson picked up Joe Allen's cross field ball on the right hand edge of the area and curled a shot over Robinson into the top corner.

Robinson had just seconds earlier kept out a long distance strike from Sigurdsson and on 38 was called into action again, tipping Danny Graham's low shot wide.

Swansea, now in complete control, did double their lead just two minutes before the break though as they capitalised on a Scott Dann error.

Scott Sinclair picked up Dann's miscued clearance, fed the ball to Sigurdsson and he squared it to the unmarked Nathan Dyer to fire home.

The absence of Givet from the squad looked even more costly soon after, with the injured Grant Hanley forced off at half time and no defenders on the bench.

Orr moved across to partner Dann in the middle, with Marcus Olsson moving to left back and Mauro Formica coming on out wide.

David Dunn scuffed a volley at goalkeeper Michel Vorm early in the second half as Rovers tried to launch a fight back, but it was Swansea who still looked the more dangerous of the two sides.

And sure enough they made it 3-0 on 64 as Scott Sinclair waltzed past three Rovers defenders and his pull back was tapped home by Sigurdsson, via the post and then Dann.

Rovers were well beaten now and only Robinson stopped the score from getting any worse, although Dunn did strike a post with a curling shot from distance.
