CHARLIE Austin’s header has put Burnley in front at half time in this afternoon’s Championship home game against Coventry City.
Austin rose highest to head home Ross Wallace’s cross in the 19th minute, after Coventry had dominated the opening stages of the game.
Kieran Trippier had to clear Richard Keogh’s header off the line, while Lee Grant twice produced smart saves to deny Alex Nimely.
But Burnley improved after Austin’s goal and Danny Ings came close to making it 2-0 when his shot was saved by Joe Murphy at the end of a superb run into the box.
Murphy then denied Austin after the striker had made his way past Martin Cranie and Keogh.
