PADRAIG Amond found the net late on to give Accrington Stanley victory at home to League Two bottom club Hereford United this afternoon.

Stanley came close to taking the lead in an impressive first half display when Amond spun clear but saw his shot saved by Dave Cornell, before Bobby Grant lashed an angled effort against the crossbar.

The Reds went ahead 90 seconds into the second half as Grant curled the ball into the far corner from 20 yards, but Hereford levelled against the run of play 10 minutes later when Will Evans' 20-yard free kick deflected past Ian Dunbavin.

Amond headed home Toto Nsiala's deep cross five minutes from time, though, to give Stanley victory.
