BRADLEY Orr believes the Premier League survival scrap will “separate the men from the boys” but is adamant Rovers’ squad have the desire to see them to safety.

Blackburn Rovers’ right back expects the fight to stay in the top flight to go to the final day of the season and admits it could all come down to who wants it the most.

Monday night’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United sent Rovers back into the bottom three but, with just a point between the four teams above basement side Wolves, Orr knows the fight for survival is still very much on.

Ahead of Rovers’ trip to West Brom on Saturday, Orr is confident they will respond to the cruel late defeat to Manchester United in the right fashion.

He said: “We don’t have time to sulk, we have to go again. There are seven games to go and we have to step up to the plate. The next few weeks will separate the men from the boys and you will see who wants it most.

“It is like anything in life. If you really want something that bad you have to go and grab it with both hands. No one is going to do it for you.

“It is very tight. It is going to go to the wire maybe. We have to be focused and concentrate on our own ship and get that right.

We have to prove we want it more than the other teams down there to survive.

“The games that are coming up, we are more than capable of getting maximum points from them. The gaffer said why not start Saturday? That is the aim and the focus. We will be going there to try and win, no doubt about it.”

Late goals from Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young sent Rovers back into the drop zone earlier this week, after the hosts threatened to shock the Premier League leaders for long periods.

Orr, who joined from QPR on transfer deadline day in January, admits the manner of Monday’s defeat was hard to take but has faith there is the character in the squad to react.

“We were devastated with the result because I think for 80 minutes, we have tried our best, given our all and more than matched the best team in the country,” he told Roversplayer.

“Then the goal has gone in and we have let our heads drop, which is disappointing, but there are so many positives we can take into the West Brom game on Saturday.

“We will definitely dust ourselves down, pick our heads up and go again, because it is a positive camp. We will give our all to go into Saturday with a positive attitude.

“You would be asking questions if it didn’t hurt people when we are losing points.

“I am more confident that within our camp it is a positive camp and we have a good dressing room, from the manager to the tea lady, we all play a part and we want it so we have to go and prove it.”
