THE final of the annual Burnley and Pendle Masters Darts competition takes place this week with £900 worth of prize money up for grabs.

The competition, formerly the Golden Arrow, will be held at the Carters and Motormans Working Men’s Club, Nelson on Thursday evening.

The event, which starts at 8.30pm, pits together the best darters from Burnley and Pendle.

The top four players from each borough will battle it out in a knockout format with the draw made on the evening.

Michael Healey goes in to the event as the Pendle champion with Grant Johnson qualifying as runner-up.

Losing semi finalists were Gary Hooper and Trevor Salisbury.

The Burnley foursome will be headed by town champion Graham Lalor with runner-up Simon Latchum and losing semi finalists Christian Pratt and Gary Kendall completing the quartet.

The format will see the quarter finals and semi finals played best of five legs of 501 with the final best of seven legs.
