PADIHAM earned the right to stage a fascinating FA Carlsberg Vase first round home tie against FC United of Manchester on October 7 when they beat Cheadle Town 1-0 in their second qualifying round match at Arbories on Saturday.
Paul Barrett hit the only goal of the game when he raced onto a Ross Barnham through ball on 60 minutes and fired over the head of Cheadle keeper Peter Mellor to put the Storks 1-0 up.
Both sides had chances before the final whistle, but with Padiham keeper Gavin King able to prevent Cheadle from equalising, the home side won through to the next round.
