Blackburn Rovers youngster Jason Lowe is set to play for England under 21s in tonight’s game against Iceland.

Stuart Pearce's team play in Colchester tonight in their latest 2013 European Championship qualifier looking to maintain a 100 per cent start to the Group 8 campaign.

The game is live on ESPN at 7.30pm.

The promotion of Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell to the senior squad for the first time ahead of the friendlies against Spain and Sweden - with Danny Welbeck, Phil Jones and Kyle Walker also now with Fabio Capello's group - has once more forced Pearce to rethink his own plans.

However, the former England captain sees the enforced selection changes as very much an opportunity for new talent - with Brighton defender Lewis Dunk, Barnsley's Jacob Butterfield and Tottenham's Tom Carroll all given a taste of competitive under-21s action.

Manchester United's Will Keane and Newcastle forward Sammy Ameobi have been drafted in from the under-19s.
