Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean admitted he was pleased to come away from his former club Fulham with a point and believes it indicates the future is bright.

He said: "We should have won the game against Everton, and the way we played today showed great spirit.

“We came and were bold, we tried to score the first goal.

"It’s easy to be really defensive but we didn’t do that.

“I’ve got the backing of the dressing room and the backing of the owners, who are happy with the way we’re playing.

“I’m happy with the squad and I think we will finish in the top half.

"I've got fantastic backing from the owners, and I'm in contact with them every day.

"They're happy with the way we're playing.

"We had backing in the window, and have a competitive squad, so we have a squad that will finish in the top half.

"It's been a slow start, but we should already have had three or four points on the board before today.

"We'll stick at it.

“I’m sure if the fans stay with us they will see plenty more performances away from home like that where we take three point instead of one.”
