VEDAD Ibisevic's proposed move from Hoffenheim to Blackburn Rovers has been called off, according to his German club.

The Bosnian striker was Steve Kean's main striking target ahead of tomorrow night's transfer window deadline.

A fee had been agreed with Hoffenheim and talks were held between the two clubs, but a move has now broken down with Rovers having concerns over Ibisevic's fitness.

Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said: "We were talking to Blackburn Rovers and there was a chance Vedad Ibisevic could have moved to them.

"However Blackburn did not want to meet our demands in the end. The transfer is off.

"We understand Blackburn felt there was a certain risk involved as Vedad Ibisevic is actually out injured.

"That played a part."

Kean may now turn his attention to Ajax’s Morrocan frontman Mounir El Hamdaoui.
