ACCRINGTON Stanley put in a much-improved performance against Bradford following Saturday's disappointing defeat to Southend to go into the break goalless at the Crown Ground.

Wes Fletcher was handed an immediate start after completing his loan move from neighbours Burnley.

One of four changes to the starting line-up following defeat at home to Southend United on Saturday, the young striker impressed in a lively first half, stinging the keeper's hands before spotting him off his line and hitting the bar with a deft lob in the 25th minute.

Sean Hessey was restored to the back four in favour of the on-loan Kern Miller and played his part in keeping Bradford at bay, while following on from his eye-catching second-half cameo 18-year-old Nat Taylor looked to cause problems in his first start.

Reds goalkeeper Sean Murdoch carried on from a good performance on Saturday and made a good save from Jack Compton 10 minutes before the break. Although the winger was offside the Scot was not to know that and reacted well.
