ACCRINGTON Stanley chief executive Rob Heys says funds are still available for two more signings after Wes Fletcher yesterday joined the club on loan from Burnley.
Stanley were given the go-ahead to take the 20-year striker on loan until January after Burnley completed the signing of Bournemouth forward Danny Ings yesterday afternoon, with the deal previously held up by the Clarets’ lack of cover up front.
Fletcher will now be available for tonight’s home game against Bradford, and Heys has confirmed that there remains room in the budget for two more signings.
Stanley are wary of having too large a squad, but Coleman’s wage budget will be boosted slightly after fees were agreed for Alex Cisak and Terry Gornell.
“Some of that will go back into John’s budget, it’s only fair after he’s lost players that he’s given the opportunity to replace them.
"We’re working hard to bring in two or three more this week or early next week,” said Heys, speaking before the Fletcher deal was confirmed.
“I think we do have a strong starting 11 but it’s on the bench that we’re perhaps a little bit weak and John does like that competition for places.”
The Reds are waiting for international clearance to sign Irish winger Paddy Amond on loan from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira, while former Burnley forward Ian Thomas-Moore has also been training with the club.
