A CHARITY football match, in memory of one of Accrington Stanley’s most devoted fans, will take place at the end of the month.

The Coxy Memorial Charity Cup, in honour of Stanley supporter Antony Cox, is due to take place over the Bank Holiday weekend of August 27/August 29.

It will be held at the Crown Ground and will see a ‘legends’ side take on a Stanley Ultras FC team.

Mr Cox died on the railway tracks last August, aged 33.

The original event was postponed in May because of Stanley’s participation in the League Two play-offs.

All fans are encouraged to attend as all money raised will go towards causes chosen by Mr Cox’s family.
