SUPPORTERS are reminded to arrive early for today’s Burnley game with Watford in order to see Clarets legend Jimmy McIlroy’s MBE presentation at Turf Moor.
The 79-year-old, who won the First Division title with Burnley in 1960, was awarded the honour for services to football and charity in the Queen’s New Year Honours’ list in January, but turned down the chance to be presented at Buckingham Palace in favour of a ceremony at his old club.
The running order for the pre-match presentation is as follows: 2:45pm - Jimmy McIlroy, Burnley FC chairman Barry Kilby and dignatries will make their way to the centre circle.
2.47pm - the presentation will be made by Lord Shuttleworth KCVO, Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire.
2.50pm - Jimmy McIlroy MBE will make a short speech.
Fans are advised to take their seats by 2.40pm.
