BLACKBURN Rovers are continuing their search for extra attacking firepower.
Former Dundee United man David Goodwillie completed his switch to Ewood late on Wednesday night but that hasn’t stopped Rovers from looking at other striking options in their quest for goals this season.
Ahead of tomorrow’s pre-season friendly at Kilmarnock, Goodwillie and Jason Roberts are the club’s only out-and-out strikers, with Nikola Kalinic expected to complete his switch to Dnipro imminently, and boss Steve Kean wants more.
January signings Ruben Rochina and Mauro Formica will help David Dunn and Junior Hoilett give Rovers more creativity this campaign, but a third striker remains on the club’s wish list.
Venky’s though are determined not to get caught up in the constant speculation about transfer targets but they have told the Lancashire Telegraph they are looking at several options to further enhance their striking options.
Venky’s also remain determined to keep hold of defender and skipper Chris Samba.
They insist Spurs have not yet lodged a formal bid for the player, although enquiries have been made.
