The Pendle and Craven croquet team of Geoff and Maureen Whitaker, Jonty Parkinson and Robert Hall managed to even the scores in the doubles matches but lost 10 of the singles to an on-form Culcheth as they went down 12-6. The Full Lawn handicap team of David Pollitt, John Filsak, Catherine Parnell and Ron Welch fared better against Bury Peelers team and won 6-1.
