ACCRINGTON have confirmed plans to hold a share issue to raise funds and give the community a greater role at the club.

Ilyas Khan completed his takeover of Stanley in April and has talked for some time about his desire for a share issue and is also ambitious about building a new stadium.

He said: “Shareholders will be making a direct contribution to the future of Accrington Stanley as we strengthen our ties between the club, the community and our supporters around the world as well as in time, building much needed new facilities.”

The share issue could not lead to a new majority shareholder at the club, but further details on the plans will be announced after the Reds’ AGM on July 29.
