TABLE-toppers Baxenden collide with title favourites Read today in the biggest game of the season to date.

Andy Caunce’s Baxenden have won all of their six games to hit the top of the table as they bid to reclaim the crown they won two years ago.

And Read are third after an unbeaten start to the campaign – but crucially they had a no result at Settle last weekend.

They had hoped to field Lancashire star Oliver Newby in the team for the showdown at Whalley Road – but the local hero has been on Lancashire duty in Hampshire this week and will be travelling with the Red Rose to Durham.

Barnoldswick are in second spot and their game at Edenfield promises much.

Barlick are in good form, while Greg Smithson’s Edenfield look to get their season back on track after back to back losses saw them drop to sixth.

Padiham go to Clitheroe and Great Harwood host Settle.

Earby welcome Ribblesdale Wanderers to The Applegarth, Whalley entertain Oswaldtwistle and Cherry Tree look for their first win of the season at Salesbury.
