Steve Kean insists Blackburn Rovers are concentrating on their own game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday rather than their relegation rivals' tough away games.

With two of Blackpool, Wigan and Birmingham needing to win from trips to Manchester United, Stoke and Tottenham respectively, even defeat at Wolves might not see Rovers relegated.

Kean though is not prepared to rely on others and is adamant their thoughts will be nowhere else but Molineux.

He said: “I asked my staff to find out the results with five minutes to go just to get an idea on Saturday, but I don’t know if it influences you too much.

“You look at the game you are in. I don’t see why people would say Manchester United have nothing to play for against Blackpool.

"The lads who will play are probably playing for a place on the bench or even in the team for the Champions League final.

“If I was speaking to them, I would say something is up for grabs.

“We have picked up six positive results from the last eight games.

"We can’t control what happens at other grounds, all we can do is keep picking up our own points.

“If the lads keep doing what they have done over the last few months, with their willingness and solid base and stick together and work their socks off, we will get what we need next week.”
