CHRIS Stammers has been given seven games to prove he's the man to replace Mark Smitheringale as the new manager of Clitheroe.
The former Burscough coach took charge of team affairs last week after Smitheringale was sacked.
And he's wasted little time in putting forward a strong case after guiding the team to two wins in the opening week.
The Blues committee will decide on Smitheringale's successor by their next meeting on September 18.
Clitheroe will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent start when Bridlington visit Shawbridge tomorrow.
The Telegraph would like to point out that manager Mark Smitheringale was not sacked by text as we reported earlier this week.
