Richard Nicholls: We finished the season so well last year but had to settle for fourth because we had a disappointing start.

"Hopefully we can carry the second half form into the new season.

"In Jaffar we have a tremendous pro. He got 98 wickets last season and is very dangerous coming back with the old ball.

"We have signed Umar and Abdul Saddique from Padiham and in a strange quirk we play Padiham on Saturday."

Prediction: Finished last year like a train and if Jaffar Nazir can fire Barlick will roll over many. May have to settle for second spot.
