THEY'VE got a virus down at Turf Moor that's for sure ... and it's not just from Tuesday's game.

It wasn't the same Burnley team that played against QPR in the first game of the season and whatever it is, they've got to put it right.

I keep saying that the attitude of the players is a key factor in these games and it's got to be right if we're going to win games.

On Tuesday, we started the game very lacklustre, we were casual and slow. Our passing was slow and we were going back to just humping it up the park without any thought.

I think the biggest thing is we have too many players out of touch at the moment. I can't believe some of the performances. They've been nothing like what the team was showing at the start of the season.

But if you get three or four players not playing up to scratch it makes it very difficult for the rest of the team to carry them and that's what's happening.

Steve will have been looking at that this week and trying to get to the bottom of it. It's one of those things that happens in football and the manager, assistant manager and coaches will be working hard to make sure it doesn't happen again.

We're still in a good position, we're seventh in the league with seven points but we still lack the concentration, and that has to get sorted out quickly. They'll get their chance away to Crystal Palace but they probably couldn't pick a tougher game to bounce back.

But everybody wants them to get back to the way they were playing against QPR. It's all about the attitude of the players.

Looking at the big picture we've got off to a good start but I believe we're lacking the performances to match that start.

Steve and his backroom staff have got to put that right.
